This collection of old “chestnuts” and more-recent jokes has resulted from the encouragement received by the author from the laughter and similar, although not necessarily complimentary reactions from his listeners.
The way to use the book is to look for a title or punch line that, particularly tickles your fancy, turn to the page indicated, read it and, hopefully roll on the floor with laughter or, perhaps make some disparaging remark about the author and try your luck again.
