The Story: "The Tiger's Treasure" started off as an exercise in creative writing in a Secondary One Normal Class. The author, Ivy Koh, got so carried away by her story that she continued to write and expand on it long after the class project had been completed. Her enthusiasm was infectious - first her English teacher, Terry Morgan, and then the publishers, saw in Ivy's story the possibility of an exciting book set in Singapore, with a gripping plot, brisk dialogue and interesting characterisation.
The Exercise and Games: To go with Ivy's story, Terry Morgan has devised a series of exercises and games which are aimed at developing both Language and Literature skills through individual, pair and group work in a classroom situation. It is hoped that the exercises will stimulate students' imagination and teach through enjoyment.
