While the full flavour of Kipling's style has been retained, the language has been simplified and modernized to suit readers aged 11 to 14.
Books One & Two are the first in a series of three books, each containing three stories about Mowgli, and each story is followed by questions as well as vocabulary and grammar exercises. At the end of Book Three are additional questions on the whole series and suggestions for creative projects based on the series.
All the stories are delightfully illustrated with black and white line drawings.
